Beau T. Bryan, M.D. – Board Certified Ophthalmologist

Dr. Beau T. Bryan has practiced comprehensive ophthalmology in Columbia since 2014, and founded Bryan Eye Clinic, P.A. in 2021. He specializes in advanced cataract surgery, laser eye surgery, and adult comprehensive ophthalmology.  Dr. Bryan has performed thousands of cataract and laser eye surgeries, including extensive experience with the LenSx® femtosecond laser system and advanced technology intraocular lenses (IOLs).  He has performed several “firsts” in the Midlands, implanting the first Vivity® IOL in the area.  A detail-oriented surgeon, Dr. Bryan strives to provide the best medical and surgical eye care for adults in South Carolina.

Dr. Bryan is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and participates in maintenance of certification.  He is an active fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.  Dr. Bryan completed his internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Ophthalmology at Texas A&M/Baylor Scott & White in Temple, TX.  While in Texas, Dr. Bryan achieved some of the highest examination scores in the country for ophthalmologists in training.  Prior to Texas, Dr. Bryan graduated from the Medical College of Georgia in 2010 with a 4.0 GPA and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha.  He graduated summa cum laude with highest honors from the University of Georgia in 2006 with a double major in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and Cellular Biology.  He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa in 2006 at UGA, an honor he is proud to share with his wife, Katharine.

Dr. Bryan is happily married with four sons and is an ordained deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in Columbia, SC.  He is an accomplished pianist and enjoys playing for church services.  He offers prayer with every patient before cataract surgery, which he considers one of his greatest privileges.  Dr. Bryan is proud to operate at the Palmetto Surgery Center in Columbia, SC, where he has served as president of the Governing Board.  When not practicing medicine, he can be found chasing his four boys or paying babysitters to allow regular date nights with his wife.
